Overview The Instructional Designer II serves as a key collaborator with faculty and administrators to develop and maintain high-quality, technology-enhanced nursing courses. This role ensures instructional consistency and alignment with UF and College of Nursing standards, proactively identifying and resolving course issues. As a leader in instructional design projects, the Instructional Designer II drives continuous improvement of course templates and design processes, and contributes to the College’s broader instructional strategy as a vital member of the Educational Technology Team.

Responsibilities

Partner with faculty to design, revise, and maintain competency-based, technology-enhanced courses across online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

Design and produce high-quality multimedia content for instructional use, including interactive modules, video and graphics.

Record and edit educational videos, lectures, and training materials.

Support faculty in developing interactive and accessible educational media.

Integrate active learning strategies and emerging technologies to support student engagement.

Conduct regular course audits to ensure design consistency, accessibility, and compliance with UF instructional standards.

Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials to ensure objectives are accomplished.

Ensure consistency and adherence to instructional quality standards such as Quality Matters and UF’s Standards & Markers of Excellence.

Develop and implement standardized course templates, design guidelines, SOPs and best practices related to instructional design.

Proactively review courses in collaboration with instructional design staff and faculty to improve course layouts and functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instructional media tools.

Deliver training sessions and 1:1 support on instructional tools and course development, including Canvas, Zoom, PlayPosit, and lecture capture tools.

Provide technical support and instructional guidance to faculty, staff, and students through multiple channels.

Conduct workshops and develop user-friendly guides and tutorials.

Train faculty on video production and lecture capture tools including PowerPoint and MediaSite Mosaic.

Support adoption of instructional technologies aligned with course goals and college standards.

Manage the delivery of electronic exams using platforms such as ExamSoft, Honorlock, and ProctorU.

Offer real-time support to students and faculty during exam sessions; monitor and troubleshoot exam issues to ensure academic integrity and a smooth user experience.

Qualifications

Masters degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Strong proficiency in educational technology.

Proven success in managing complex scheduling, coordinating high-level meetings, and preparing professional briefing and presentation materials.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.

Salary $61,000-$71,000
