Role

Corporate Operational Excellence Black Belt

Join BWXT as a Corporate OpEx Black Belt to drive continuous improvement across our corporate salary support organizations. The role involves guiding cross-functional teams to amplify performance and efficiency in business processes, including finance & accounting, human resources, supply chain, contracts, corporate affairs, IT, legal & compliance, regulatory affairs, and EHS & security.

Responsibilities

Spot opportunities for growth by identifying improvement opportunities in the value stream that align with BWXT's KPIs. Lead Kaizen events, assemble teams, facilitate process improvements, and document outcomes. Define value for various functional areas to increase organizational effectiveness. Visualize success using value stream mapping and process mapping to distinguish Value-Add from Non-Value-Add activities. Eliminate waste through visual management, 5S, and standard work principles in collaboration with all levels of the organization. Develop and deliver Kaizen training programs to empower the workforce.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years of relevant experience in continuous improvement. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships. Proactive implementer who can manage multiple Kaizen events within deadlines. Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to lead teams through challenging situations. On-site role preferred at the Lynchburg corporate office; other options considered case-by-case.

Compensation and Employment Details

Pay: $66,000 - $101,000. The base salary range for this position in Virginia is expected to be between $66,000 and $101,000 at the start of employment. Final offered compensation is determined by local market factors, knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective considerations. The total compensation package may include an annual cash incentive and a comprehensive benefits program. Employment is at-will where applicable. BWXT reserves the right to modify base salary and benefits at any time.
