Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities through therapeutic outreach, meaningful connection, and community-based enrichment. We are seeking a
Director of Development & Strategy
to join our founding leadership team. This is a volunteer executive role designed for someone who is passionate about building a nonprofit from the ground up and shaping systems that will sustain impact for years to come. Working directly with the COO and collaborating with the CEO, this leader will help establish organizational infrastructure, support program directors, and guide GVF’s long-term development strategy. Over time, the role will evolve toward fundraising, grants, and external partnerships as the organization stabilizes. Key Responsibilities
Partner with the COO to design and implement GVF’s organizational systems, compliance tools, and shared resource drives. Support program directors in becoming “grant-ready” through documentation, reporting, and structure. Collaborate on long-term strategy for growth, partnerships, and program expansion. Represent GVF in the community with potential partners, funders, and stakeholders. Assist in building policies, evaluation tools, and impact tracking systems. Qualifications
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to translate big-picture vision into practical systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent GVF publicly. Collaborative leadership style, comfortable working side by side with founders. Passion for community impact and serving vulnerable populations. Reports directly to the COO; collaborates with the CEO. Flexible commitment with weekly coordination. Potential to evolve into a compensated role as funding allows.
