Overview
Valleywise Health, formerly known as Maricopa Integrated Health System, is a comprehensive public health care system deeply rooted in the Phoenix community, serving Maricopa County for over 140 years. As the region’s public safety-net hospital system and largest public teaching hospital, Valleywise includes the Diane & Bruce Halle Arizona Burn Center, behavioral health hospitals, community and comprehensive health centers, and a strong network focused on providing “exceptional care without exception, every patient, every time”. Valleywise Health is the Phoenix area’s only public teaching health system and has achieved several firsts in the state. Responsibilities
Oversee the health system’s compliance, privacy, and ethics program. Report directly to the President & CEO and the Board of Directors. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations while fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Direct system-wide compliance strategy, oversee investigations and risk assessments, and provide regular reporting to senior leadership and the Board. Proactively identify and mitigate risk through continuous risk assessment and staff training. Lead the development and management of all direct reports; manage departmental operating and capital budgets; ensure staff activities and behaviors align with Valleywise Health’s mission, vision, values, and operational goals. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or related field required. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC or equivalent) required. Juris Doctor (JD) or master’s in healthcare administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), or business administration (MBA), or related field strongly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare compliance (may include healthcare legal experience). Preference toward senior compliance leadership experience in Behavioral Health, Level 1 Trauma Centers, and/or Academic Medical Centers. Location
Phoenix, Arizona area, including Valleywise Health facilities in Phoenix. This role reports to the senior leadership team within Valleywise Health and collaborates with AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions | B.E. Smith on executive search processes. Job Type
