Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty member will be teaching undergraduate and graduate School of Business Leadership courses primarily in the accelerated online and/or evening format, but also in the traditional on-campus lecture format as needed to satisfy teaching load requirements.
Additional responsibilities include acting as Program Director for the Networking Management & Security and Cybersecurity programs by serving on university committees; attending university and school meetings; overseeing departmental processes necessary for overall program evaluation, strategic planning, and accreditation; advisement of students; curriculum development; selection and monitoring of faculty.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on a full-time basis in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies
Assess student performance using outcomes-based assessments
Collaborate with content and design specialists to develop curriculum consistent with course objectives and best practices in the School of Business
Coordinate scheduling of courses and adjunct faculty
Student advisement and degree progress oversight
Advising oversight and administration of adjunct faculty
Regular monitoring of full-time and adjunct faculty teaching
Address student and instructor issues in School of Business Leadership courses
Qualifications
Expertise in the discipline
Strong organizational and teaching skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team to coordinate and support program within the school and university
Ability to employ appropriate technology and best practices in teaching both traditional and adult learners
Adherence to the Christian mission and policies of the University
Education and/or Experience
Minimum Master’s degree in relevant academic discipline
DBA, PhD, or additional graduate coursework in specialty area (e.g. cybersecurity, computer science, network management, Information Technology, Database Administration)
One or more current industry certifications in IT/Cyber related disciplines such as A+, Network+ CISA, CCNA, CySA+, PenTest+, CEH, GCIH, or CISSP strongly
Teaching experience in higher education strongly
Business experience in the field of Cybersecurity, Network Security, Network Administration, Information Assurance or similar relevant employment
Physical Demands
Operate a computer with a keyboard, pointing device, web cam, and speakers
Stand and sit for extended periods of time
Walk around the classroom and to/from parking lots and buildings
Stand, bend, and crouch
Reach, grasp, move, and hold objects
Verbally express information or instructions
Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds
Exercise clear vision at 20 inches or less and adjust focus
Judge distances and spatial relationships
