L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail oriented Lab Manager to oversee the daily operations of our test labs that support Tactical Data Link (TDL) contracts. The Lab Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and supporting engineering activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to provide an efficient and functional work environment. Responsibilities
Maintenance and Sustainability:
Oversee maintenance, supply, and repair of equipment and Special Test Equipment (STE). Coordinate and support facility requests including environmental, electrical, planning needs, and cleaning. Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and ensure safe working conditions are maintained for all employees (e.g., monitoring HAZMAT, noise, RF emissions, cleanliness). Facilities Collaboration:
Collaborate with Facility Manager on lab layout, moves, furniture needs, and HVAC issues to maintain a comfortable lab environment. Communication:
Maintain constant communication with lab stakeholders to ensure an efficient and functional work environment. Equipment Management:
Manage test equipment, COMSEC (CCI and SECRET), and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) (Unclassified, CCI, and SECRET). Engineer Support:
Locate equipment for engineers as needed for tests and assist with equipment setup and support, including benches, computers, and ensuring network functionality at each bench. Calibration:
Collaborate with the Calibration team to ensure equipment is within calibration dates and turned in for recalibration prior to expiration, then returned to users after calibration and configured properly. Security & Custodianship:
Act as COMSEC Custodian for items in respective labs, including serving as the SKL Custodian, and ensuring compliance with CompuSec, COMSEC, and ISSM requirements. Access Control:
Serve as Safe Custodian overseeing lab, network, and safe(s) access approvals and removals. Compliance Monitoring and Material Management:
Monitor and maintain the Monthly Compliance Checklist, including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Control and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control, ensuring area compliance and housekeeping standards are met, addressing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) hazards, and ensuring work performed meets L3Harris standards. Quality and Audit Readiness:
Knowledge and experience with preparing, supporting, and participating in internal QA and external AS9100D audits and quality control requirements through proper documentation and inventory traceability. Material Control:
Manage material control, including procurement processes, monitoring and supply of perishable materials, proper disposal of outdated materials, control of material shelf lifes and HAZMAT materials, and oversight of manufacturing and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling, traceability, education, and storage. Lab Organization:
Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the labs, ensuring tools and personal items are stored properly, and the lab work areas and benches are maintained to L3Harris standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. A graduate degree requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Knowledge of compliance and safety standards. Proficiency with computer-based programs and lab/inventory management software and tools
(preferred: Sente, SAP, Ariba) used to generate, track, and document work authorization documents, along with knowledge of the Microsoft SW tools suite. Active Secret security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills
Experience with operations, test, maintenance of communications electronics, and familiarity with standard electronic test and measurement equipment operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, organizational and leadership abilities, and experience interfacing with technical teams, testing, and repair facilities. Experience supporting government and/or DoD customers. Sense of responsibility, ownership, accountability, and follow-through, with team-oriented, proactive, and customer-focused approach. Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to read and understand work instructions and procedures and perform computer-related tasks without assistance. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $75,000.00-$139,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on experience and location.
