Overview
This role is for a Communication & Marketing Specialist with the National Bar Association (NBA). This position shapes the NBA’s brand voice, drives our digital presence, and develops compelling content that resonates with members and amplifies our mission to the public. $68,000.00/yr - $78,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Digital Management:
Write, edit, and distribute online communications; manage and update the NBA website; implement a social media strategy to grow online presence, engagement, and promote events and initiatives. Strategic Communications:
Contribute to key messaging and communication strategies for targeted audiences; assist in drafting press releases, official statements, and other public-facing communications; monitor, analyze, and report on digital campaign metrics to inform future strategies and demonstrate ROI. Marketing Execution:
Coordinate production and dissemination of marketing materials; prepare and distribute the master calendar of events, programs, and activities. General Support:
Provide hands-on support for marketing and communication needs of major NBA events; perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. The Ideal Candidate Is

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a communications, marketing, or content creation role. Proven portfolio of writing and content creation samples (e.g., press releases, social media campaigns, newsletter content, website copy). Hands-on experience managing professional social media accounts for a brand or organization. Technical proficiency with standard software (Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace) and ability to learn essential platforms. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail. Work Location & Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person position based at the NBA headquarters in Washington, DC. Regular in-office presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend events. Some hybrid flexibility may be possible for specific circumstances. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Occasional travel (10-15%) may be required for conventions, member meetings, or special events. The NBA offers a competitive compensation package, including salary in the range of $68,000 - $78,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, and vision insurance).
