We are seeking a dynamic investigative reporter to join the award-winning KSL Investigators. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, researching, writing and presenting highly produced investigative stories. The ideal candidate questions those in power, holds government accountable, exposes corruption, helps consumers solve problems, and provides viewers with information to be informed citizens. Experience with government records requests, data journalism, and media law is valued. Successful candidates will model professionalism in skill, attitude, and commitment. Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion. What You Will Do

Originate, research, write and produce highly visual and compelling investigative stories of the highest quality for broadcast and digital media. Develop a network of sources to break investigative stories of significance in the community and add context to breaking news coverage. Mine tips, sources, data, and public records requests to pinpoint issues of significant local impact with a focus on solutions. Regularly enterprise and pitch investigative story ideas while also pursuing stories as assigned. Work with managers and legal team to ensure stories are accurate, ethical, complete, fair, and well-documented. Conduct interviews, gather information, log and organize footage, arrange for graphics and supervise editing sessions. Meet all story deadlines. Work effectively in a team environment with managers, reporters, photographers, and editors. Innovate elements to showcase investigations on broadcast, web, and social media platforms. Balance long-term investigations with short-term or data-driven stories and investigative angles on breaking news and major events. Demonstrate editorial judgment and a strong commitment to journalism ethics and laws, including access to records. Provide investigative research expertise and support to other team members as needed. Skills And Experience We Are Looking For

Minimum of 3 years journalism experience – investigative reporting and/or producing. College degree in journalism, communications, related field or equivalent. Strong on-camera reporting skills. Proven investigative skills with the ability to produce under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple stories to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of open records laws and the ability to obtain government documents and datasets, with well-organized files. Excellent computer research skills, with ability to analyze and visualize data for on-air and online reporting. Ability to write in a clear and conversational manner. Flexibility to meet required hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Valid driver's license and ability to safely drive company or personal vehicle as required. Physical Demands

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication. Significant use of wrists, hands, and fingers; ability to extend arms and hands as needed. Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Compensation

$65,000 – $120,000. Salary to be determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and alignment with market data. What We Offer You
