Overview
Senior Manager, Threat Management & Prevention is a strategic leadership role responsible for leading and coordinating with cross-functional teams from HR, Legal, Privacy, Safety and IT/Cyber Security to continuously improve the organization’s Insider Threat Program and Workplace Violence Prevention Program and conform with existing and emerging federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional security team to design, implement, and manage comprehensive Insider Threat and Workplace Violence Prevention Programs (WPVP) that align with organizational objectives and federal, state regulations. Chair the Threat Assessment Team (TAT) and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), overseeing case management, response protocols, and after-action reviews for insider threat or workplace violence incidents. Develop and maintain enterprise policies, procedures, and governance frameworks in compliance with Executive Order 13587, DoD Directive 5143.01, ANSI/ASIS WPVI AA-2020, OSHA guidelines, and state-specific regulations. Conduct and oversee complex insider threat investigations and workplace violence risk assessments, ensuring early identification of suspicious or concerning behaviors through collaboration with internal monitoring teams and use of open-source intelligence. Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on threat trends, mitigation strategies, high-risk cases, and preparedness planning through regular briefings and situational updates. Cultivate and maintain collaborative partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement, labor unions, and external threat management organizations to support safe and lawful incident resolution. Develop and deliver comprehensive training and awareness initiatives for employees and leaders, including scenario-based exercises, crisis simulations, and active assailant preparedness. Continuously improve program capabilities by engaging cross-functional stakeholders to assess and update insider threat and WPVP strategies, tools, and policies. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and cross-functional partners involved in the threat assessment and response process, building organizational readiness and response capacity. Lead and facilitate monthly Insider Threat and Workplace Violence Prevention working groups to align stakeholders, monitor program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement. Be available to respond to urgent situations on a 24/7 basis as part of the role’s core responsibilities. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field 7+ years of progressive experience in insider threat, workplace violence threat management and/or emergency response Current member or ability to become a member of a professional threat assessment organization (i.e. Association of Threat Assessment Professionals) Strong working knowledge of behavioral threat assessment models (e.g., WAVR-21, NaBITA) and insider threat frameworks (e.g., NITTF, CERT) Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, Psychology, or related field Global experience highly desirable Skills, Licenses, And Certifications
