Overview Amanda Teal Design, a boutique residential design firm based in Menlo Park, is looking for a Junior Designer to join our team. We serve clientele throughout Northern California, and our projects typically involve full-scale remodels or new build homes. We pride ourselves on creating thoughtful and innovative designs while providing the highest level of personal service. Our approach is grounded in integrity, and we value building strong relationships with our industry collaborators.

The Junior Designer will work under the Project Managers, and will support the team in creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential design clients. We actively foster a team environment where supporting each other, sharing information, and learning is key. The ideal candidate will have the drive to be a meaningful contributor, have excellent communication skills, and is fully committed to the success of the company and our projects.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to design team

Assist Project Managers with miscellaneous project related design tasks

Create CAD plans and elevations, coordinate site measurements as needed

Create, or coordinate creation of, perspective drawings and renderings

Create style sheets and presentation boards, physical and digital

Create product tearsheets for Client presentations

Assist Project Manager with product research and sample procurement

Request quotes from vendors and enter items in Studio Designer

Collaborate with Project Manager and Purchasing Coordinator to gather any finish samples, drawings, or site measurements needed to complete Orders

Create and maintain project Schedules; includes materials, plumbing, cabinetry, lighting, paint, hardware and accessories, responsible for completeness

Create specification packets for contractors or permits, when requested

Create and maintain project files, binders, fabric and material boxes

Record and distribute detailed meeting notes for all meetings attended

Assist Purchasing Coordinator to prepare for installation, maintain supplies

Create project specific care and cleaning instructions

Assist Design Director to prepare for photoshoot

Maintain and organize Sample Library; sample pick-ups and returns

Maintain ATD digital sourcing library

Maintain current rep and vendor contact information in Studio Designer

Schedule vendor presentations as needed

Maintain office, kitchen, and cleaning supplies

Maintain office cleanliness and organization

Track hours by daily time billing entries
