We are looking for an Executive Underwriter for our office in Houston, Texas for our property line of business. Your Team Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for complex risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. With a focus on larger international risk portfolios, we offer tailor-made "All Risks" property damage and business interruption insurance through our global Allianz Commercial Property network. We insure a wide range of clients, including sports venues, airlines, banks and manufacturers, supported by risk consultants and claims specialists. The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Regional Property Leader – Southeast, this position will take prime responsibility for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet Allianz Commercial Property targets in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority. You will negotiate price and terms and conditions, and develop and maintain strong relationships with producers and clients in partnership with Market Management. You will own large/key accounts, including negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions. Responsibilities Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Allianz Commercial Property targets in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority Negotiate price and terms and conditions Train and develop the team and serve as a referral point for senior underwriters Develop and maintain strong relationships with producers and clients in partnership with Market Management Own large/key accounts and clients, including negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions Underwriting Strategy & Leadership Contribute to development and execution of regional underwriting strategy for Allianz Commercial Property Train, develop and coach experienced staff (including Senior Underwriters) Manage complex referrals from underwriters and spokes and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate Delegate work as appropriate Underwrite profitable business and new/renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets Negotiate price and terms and conditions with producers and proactively manage capacity Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation; understand catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios Underwrite International Insurance Programs (where relevant) Relationship Management Positively represent AGCS externally to the market Drive involvement of functional areas in underwriting process (e.g., MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations) Develop and maintain relationships with key producers, clients and risk managers Policy Documentation and Administration Ensure accurate policy documentation or coordination with producers File maintenance and proactive support of policy administration and credit control processes Market Management Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business Liaise with MMC on market management initiatives Participate in key projects and cross-regional activities as required What You’ll Bring to the Role Proven track record underwriting profitable property business with more than 7 years of experience (preferably with Allianz Commercial Property) Degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration preferred Deep understanding of property products and portfolio Knowledge of regional/local Allianz Commercial Property markets and competitor landscape Established relationships with brokers and local market players Ability to assess risk, exposures and natural hazards relevant to property Analytical ability to compare performance against benchmarks and drive improvement Ability to leverage AI tools to support day-to-day tasks and data-driven decision making Compensation and Benefits The annualized base pay range for this role is $116,221 - $175,586. This is a nationwide market range; final salary will depend on scope, complexity, location, and candidate experience. Base pay is one component of the AzC total compensation package, with eligibility for annual performance-based incentive awards. What’s in it for you?
