The Insights and Decision Science (IDS) team is dedicated to enabling improved decision making at Novartis by leveraging data to identify actionable insights that drive performance. We collaborate with the US business to empower smarter, data-driven decision-making. Reporting into the Dir, Performance Reporting, this role supports optimization of data collection and reporting workflows and creates modern, user-centric reporting interfaces that enhance decision-making and drive operational excellence and innovation within the organization. The AD, Performance Reporting supports strategic initiatives and enhances operational performance across the organization by developing reports and dashboards tracking brand and portfolio performance, ensuring data-driven insights are integrated into business strategies. This role will partner with stakeholders including Business Performance, NVS brand and functional teams and other IDS functional teams. This position is located in East Hanover, NJ and is not remote. It requires 10% travel (domestic and/or international). Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of performance reporting dashboards and analytics to support strategic decision-making across brands and functions (Customer Engagement, Patient Services, Medical, Market Access, Finance) Support product vision, roadmaps, optimizing utilization, and maintaining the delivery system for IDS HQ & Field reports, dashboards, etc. Support a clear narrative for functional business performance grounded in data and insights, considering current strategy and future evolution, owned by IDS functional partner Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, data scientists, UX designers, and remote teams located internationally Collaborate with brand teams, functional teams (Medical, Patient Services, Market Access, Field, Finance), IDS teams and other NVS partners Collaborate with the Business Performance team to optimize data collection and reporting workflows and ensure data integrity and relevance Own and manage product backlog for all reporting tools, drive prioritization of enhancements and features in alignment with stakeholders Fully leverage GenAI in the creation of modern performance reporting interfaces Identify and guide teams to streamline and automate data quality processes What You’ll Bring To The Role
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred Essential Requirements
6+ years of experience in functional excellence, business intelligence & reporting or analytics within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry Proven experience in managing large-scale field reporting solutions for commercial and non-commercial pharma teams Commitment to enabling data-driven decision making throughout the organization Strong business acumen with understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical sector Experience with user-centric design principles Strong knowledge of US pharma commercial data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, Claims, EMR, sales), as well as Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Market Access Hands-on experience with analytics tools (Python, Alteryx, Dataiku) and visualization platforms (PowerBI, QlikSense) Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across functions Experience identifying and improving reporting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency Proven track record of delivering complex projects in matrixed organizations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver actionable insights Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to diverse audiences Experience maintaining high-quality reporting standards and ensuring regulatory and company policy compliance Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $132,300.00 to $245,700.00 per year Compensation includes a performance-based cash incentive and eligibility for annual equity awards, depending on role level US-based eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a generous time-off package EEO & Accessibility
