Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) . What You’ll Get to Do: Program/System Level role, partners with MOD/SIM Lead within Directorate of Engineering. Will work on system performance analysis and system level modeling, based on the lower-level component and segment models produced by other teams. The System Level MOD/SIM engineering team will model the interactions (electrical, mechanical, thermal, digital, etc.) among the lower-level modelled components to analyze performance. The MOD/SIM team will also eventually model fabrication/factory performance, so an engineer with subject matter expertise in products such as FlexSim would be a welcome addition to the team. This position will serve on-site in Redondo Beach, CA or the greater Baltimore, MD area. Requisition type:

Basic Qualifications

Principal Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; or 1 year with PhD Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes Ability to apply M&S expertise through technology processes, methodologies, standards, or frameworks Demonstrated experience in applying STAT/DOE tools and methodologies in an integrated test environment Expertise with Modeling & Simulation tools such as Python, MATLAB, COMSOL, FlexSim Demonstrated experience with MBSE to define analyses with parametric diagrams and capture different system configurations and performance values This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and a Polygraph prior to start Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s Degree; or 4 years with PhD Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes Ability to apply M&S expertise through technology processes, methodologies, standards, or frameworks Demonstrated experience in applying STAT/DOE tools and methodologies in an integrated test environment Expertise with Modeling & Simulation tools such as Python, MATLAB, COMSOL, FlexSim Demonstrated experience with MBSE to define analyses with parametric diagrams and capture different system configurations and performance values This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and a Polygraph prior to start Preferred Qualifications

Current Active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph STEM degree in mathematics, physics, or in EE, ME, or CE General mathematical background in linear algebra and differential equations Background in statistics, including the application of statistical distributions, tests and theorems and Bayesian statistics Experience performing model verification and validation Hands-on proficiency with modeling and simulation tools, such as MATLAB Familiarity with project & task management tools: Jira or Confluence Demonstrated history of successfully using model verification and validation to enable milestone test and demonstration events Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary ranges represent a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses may be awarded to reward individual contributions and to allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
