Department: Bauer Communications Salary: 56,800 - 64,600 Description: Manages communications activities to promote the advancement of a major university program or center through the planning and coordination of its publications and media relations. Responsibilities

Designs and coordinates publications for the program, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports and other marketing and promotional materials. Manages the design and update of program web sites. Coordinates the procurement and management of graphic design, printing and other publication-related services. Writes and disseminates news and press releases for the program. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with external media organizations, as well as the university's media relations department. Manages advertising, marketing and publications for promotional events and other special programs. Participates in the strategic planning process related to marketing and promotion of the program. Writes and edits articles, speeches, and other communication projects as assigned. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Additional Position Information

Official Job Title: Communications Manager Working Job Title: Social Media Specialist Description: This position works in the Office of Communications at the C. T. Bauer College of Business. Responsible for developing and executing posting calendars for college social media, including the college\'s main accounts on Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as accounts for Bauer Graduate & Professional Programs on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Serves as an administrator of these accounts with daily responsibility for posting, responding to comments, engaging with followers and answering DMs, and researching social media trends and strategies to enhance the college\'s social media presence. Part of the Social Media Work Group, scheduling meetings, developing meeting agendas, taking notes and following up on discussions during bi-monthly planning meetings. The Office of Communications is an integrated team responsible for sharing the Bauer College story and leading internal and external communication and marketing, promoting activities of faculty, staff and students, while keeping donors, alumni, prospective students, media and the community up to date on the college. Successful candidates will be able to work independently and as part of a team, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects with flexibility and attention to detail. Experience managing social media accounts, crafting social media content and engaging with stakeholders online is preferred. Candidates should communicate effectively with all levels of management and colleagues and be able to manage multiple employer relationships. Responsibilities (Position-specific)

Under the strategic direction of the Executive Director of Communications and guidance from the Director of Communications and Digital Media Program Manager, manage Bauer social media accounts, including posting and engagement, planning campaigns/seasonal content, and leading Social Media Work Group meetings. Coordinate content for Office of Communications projects, focusing on social media, digital media, web development, graphic design, editorial, media relations, advertising and marketing initiatives. Develop and maintain positive relationships with college stakeholders and UH social media. Analyze Bauer social media analytics to provide recurring reports for Office of Communications leadership on post performance. Research social media trends and strategies to enhance Bauer social media presence. Collaborate with Office of Communications team members and related roles such as Graphic Designer, web developers, writers, Multimedia Specialist and Photographer/Videographer. Preferences

Experience serving as administrator for a social media account, preferably in a communications/marketing role. Higher education experience. Experience working in a creative team or with creative professionals. Qualifications
