Barnes & Thornburg (B&T), a national law firm with more than 800 attorneys in 23 offices, seeks a Content Strategy Coordinator to support the execution of content strategy that enhances the firm’s brand, reputation, and client engagement. Reporting to the Senior Content Strategy Manager, the Content Strategy Coordinator will support content and editorial initiatives for all external marketing communications. This role requires a strategic mindset that can coordinate tactical projects, combined with exceptional writing and editing skills. You’ll help translate complex legal concepts into compelling, accessible marketing content across multiple channels, and coordinate content production with internal and external teams and partners. Responsibilities
Content Coordination Assist in content creation that highlights the expertise of B&T attorneys and practice areas, and supports business development objectives Oversee the publication of all written communications including website content, blog posts, client alerts, newsletters, articles and other marketing materials, in collaboration with the Digital Marketing team and Communications team Lead the bio and headshot process for incoming lateral partners and associates, as well as current attorneys and key personnel across the firm Coordinate the nomination and submission process for awards and rankings that recognize B&T’s attorneys and practices regionally and nationally Maintain project trackers and editorial calendars to ensure a consistent, high-quality content stream across all marketing platforms Collaborate with Communications and Digital Marketing teams to identify content opportunities and coordinate the content creation and production process and schedule Proofread and copyedit sophisticated legal content including client alerts, ad copy, practice descriptions, bios, thought leadership articles and other marketing collateral Transform complex legal analyses into clear, engaging content for clients, prospects and industry publications Ensure all content maintains B&T’s voice, meets brand standards, follows the editorial style guide and complies with legal advertising requirements Content Coordination & Production Oversee content production workflows from conception through publication Coordinate deliverables with external partners (e.g., freelancers, photo studios and agencies) Operate the team’s content management system to update web content daily Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Client Growth (Business Development) and Regional Marketing teams to align content with firm initiatives Work closely with attorneys to develop content that showcases their skills and experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field Three to seven years of content, communications or writing and editorial experience Proven track record of content creation for law firms or professional service companies Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail and style Understanding of legal industry terminology, practices, and regulations Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, digital marketing tools Project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other marketing technology and systems Seniority level
