Develop and execute more than 20 journal marketing plans annually, with guidance from the Associate Marketing Director. Identify and address communications needs with publishers and journal office partners to drive submissions, increase usage, improve circulation, or earn publicity. Recommend and implement effective marketing strategies aligned with the Division’s priorities. Report on marketing metrics, KPIs, and activities for ad hoc and annual reports in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Analyst. Provide leadership for recurring annual communications projects (e.g., Journals Division Catalog and brochures, journal rankings announcements, advertising for library conferences, marketing collateral), coordinating reviews, production scheduling, asset selection, vendor management, and deadline adjustments. Additional projects may be assigned in consultation with the Associate Marketing Director. Manage more than 20 journal marketing budgets, including allocations and timely reconciliations. Oversee publicity activities for more than 20 journals, including managing freelance writers, article recommendations, press release distribution, media list maintenance, vendor management, web updates, basic graphic design tasks, mass marketing emails, and event planning for receptions. Plan conference representation to reach appropriate academic audiences; travel to and represent the Journals Division and the Press at academic exhibits; collaborate with the Books Division on cross-promotional activities. Develop and maintain marketing functions such as marketing communications/advertising, digital marketing, and market research; review and update marketing infrastructure including databases, intranet, and external websites. Assist in managing relationships with external sales agencies; participate in developing new products/services and markets; train lower-level marketing staff; attend trade shows as needed. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 5-7 years of work experience in a related discipline. Experience in marketing related to scholarly or higher-education publications is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; minimum five years of related experience. Application Process
