Overview
Senior Gameplay Engineer, Missions - Unannounced Game at Blizzard. You will collaborate with designers and artists to create, develop, and deliver high-quality AAA missions and required gameplay systems. You will support code frameworks, functional components, workflows, and content-creation tools, and help drive improvements in engine technology. You will work with the team to define and execute a technical vision that meets project needs. This role is anticipated to be a full-time, hybrid work position, with some on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. Responsibilities
Deliver best-in-class player experiences end-to-end within the constraints of game simulation. Empower designers, artists, and other engineers to deliver the game vision and delight players. Collaborate with designers and engineers on gameplay teams to understand needs and offer technical solutions. Optimize team productivity by supporting content-creation pipelines, tool development, and workflow improvements. Champion Blizzard’s core values. Requirements
8+ years of experience in gameplay engineering or a combination of applicable training and experience. Experience delivering AAA-quality features as part of a cross-functional team including designers, artists, animators, level designers, FX artists, etc. Experience working on real-time 3D games. Knowledge & Skills
Ability to understand and write production-grade C++ code. Ability to make frequent, readable, well-tested code commits. Ability to communicate and articulate vision, ideas, learnings, and provide meaningful feedback. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Experience analyzing game features for performance and optimizing for release-quality games. Experience working closely in multi-disciplinary teams with diverse mindsets.
