Overview
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a candidate with a doctoral degree and board certified/eligible in orthopaedic surgery specializing in orthopaedic pediatric surgery to join the Department as the Service Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Associate Professor, or Professor rank on the University Medical Line (UML) or in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line. Responsibilities
Provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients. Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. Demonstrate excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill (UML). Demonstrate excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill (Clinician Educator line). Qualifications
Doctoral degree. Board certified or eligible in orthopaedic surgery. Specialization in orthopaedic pediatric surgery. Eligible for a California Medical License. Academic Rank and Line
Academic rank and line will be determined by qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We expect the successful candidate to provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients and produce scholarly work in the candidate’s major areas of interest, as well as teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. Compensation
The expected base pay range for this position is: Associate Professor or Clinical Associate Professor: $310,000-350,000 Professor or Clinical Professor: $310,000-350,000 This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
