Responsibilities
Lead a team of cardiovascular specialists as Medical Director of the Inherited Cardiovascular Disease Program (ICDP).
Provide superb clinical care to a diverse, medically complex patient population in inpatient and outpatient settings, supported by surgical and diagnostic services in a multidisciplinary environment.
Oversee the ICDP across Hartford HealthCare's Heart & Vascular Institute, including in-patient and outpatient roles in Hartford Hospital and satellite offices.
Develop the program in collaboration with a cardiac genetic counselor; contribute to clinical research opportunities.
Engage in work-up, diagnosis and treatment of patients with inherited cardiomyopathies, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, neuromuscular disease-related cardiomyopathy, and aortopathies/connective tissue diseases of the aorta.
Qualifications
Board-certified/board-eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine.
Experience in Inherited Cardiovascular Disease.
Proficiency in nuclear, exercise and pharmacological stress testing, transtho racic and transesophageal echocardiography, and carotid ultrasound.
Research experience; extensive clinical research opportunities available.
Education: Doctor of Medicine required; 1-2 years experience preferred.
