Military Wargaming SME / Content Developer with Security Clearance - full-time on-site location with travel (CONUS and OCONUS) to support wargaming activities. Verifiable Secret Clearance in DISS required. Contingent hire based upon contract award. Location: MCU Campus in Quantico, Virginia. Role
Military Wargaming SME / Content Developer who designs, develops, and maintains comprehensive wargaming content in support of Marine Corps University educational objectives. Works with Wargaming Subject Matter Experts to create detailed Game Books, Concept Briefs, Scenario Files, Discussion/Facilitation Guides, After-Action Reports, and Student Assessments. Primary duties include developing immersive gaming scenarios, learning objectives, assessment criteria, and ensuring content aligns with MCU educational goals. Provides support to faculty development initiatives at Command and Staff College and offers general support to other MCU schools as needed. Strong project management, military operations understanding, and ability to translate complex concepts into engaging educational experiences are required. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain wargaming content (board and computer-based) to support MCU educational objectives. Create Game Books, Concept Briefs, Scenario Files, Facilitation Guides, After-Action Reports, and Student Assessments. Develop immersive gaming scenarios and learning objectives; structure assessment criteria; ensure content aligns with MCU goals. Support faculty development at CSC and provide general support to MCU schools as needed. Demonstrate strong project management and a deep understanding of military operations; translate complex concepts into instructional material. Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree; significant experience documenting and developing content for traditional board wargames and computer wargames. Ability to develop and format curriculum materials and training documentation to support mentorship of Marines, Sailors, other service members, Interagency, and International Military Officers. Foundational knowledge of wargaming concepts and related skills; ability to document and support wargaming program assessments. Preferred/Highly Desired
A master's degree in Game Design, Wargame Theory, Military Studies, National Security, or related fields is preferred. Military background with PME courses at an Intermediate Level School (ILS/CSC equivalent) is preferred but not required. Company
