This position coordinates customer service delivery to the campus community and external clients on behalf of the department, ensuring garage equipment is in operable order (including gate arms, ticket dispensers, intercoms, and fee computers); provides general campus information, directions, parking alternatives, and other information to customers. The role assists in barricading lots, placing signage, and supporting campus event parking operations in assigned facilities. This position works outside for the entirety of the shift, standing and walking for extended periods in all weather conditions. It also serves as an ambassador for the department and university, regularly interacting with faculty, staff, students, and guests. This position does not supervise staff and does not involve a purchasing card or financial responsibilities, but may require driving and travel. A background check is required. Responsibilities

Assist customers in using the parking system at pay-on-foot locations and entry/exit lanes in a professional manner, offering payment options, addressing parking-related issues, and providing general campus information and parking alternatives. Provide minor cleaning and equipment maintenance such as clearing ticket dispensers, adjusting gate arms, intercoms, and fee computers. Report critical equipment malfunctions, service/maintenance, and enforcement concerns to the supervisor for resolution. Manage traffic flow during peak ingress/egress periods and events for efficient entry and exit of traffic. Monitor space availability and utilization; assist with events and reservation accommodations as necessary. Periodically conduct space and utilization counts. Light portering to ensure parking areas stay clean and clear of debris throughout each shift. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma, GED certificate, or vocational school diploma. Other Required Qualifications:

Valid US driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment. Required Experience:

One to two years of job-related experience. Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

Two or more years of job-related experience. Experience in outdoor settings with a high-volume service environment. Experience working in parking operations at a university, city, or airport. Experience working with parking/access revenue control equipment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge:

Knowledge of credit/debit card transactions and related record keeping. Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Basic knowledge of garage equipment maintenance and parking lot/facility operations. Skills:

Customer service and communications, problem-solving, attention to detail, and proficiency with office-related computer applications. USG Core Values
