Metropolitan State University of Denver The Colorado Child Welfare Scholars Consortium (CCWSC) at MSU Denver is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented multitasker who enjoys creative projects for an Administrative and Communications Specialist position. The CCWSC is a partnership with the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), participating schools of social work in Colorado, and county departments of human/social services that is housed within the Department of Social Work at MSU Denver. The CCWSC aims to grow and support the Colorado child welfare workforce through social work education, student scholarships, and post-graduation alumni support. Join us in advancing the mission of preparing the next generation of social workers in child welfare and supporting Colorado’s children and families. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in strengthening communication, building community connections, and sharing stories of hope and innovation across our variety of partners and communities. The Administrative and Communications Specialist works under the direction of the CCWSC Project Director. Program coordination and support Organize and track scholarship applications and awards Post weekly videos to our YouTube channel Create and send a monthly e-newsletter CCWSC website management Develop and manage social media platforms to highlight successes and opportunities Coordinate with the MSU Denver Department of Social Work’s communications team to ensure consistent messaging Collaborate with consortium partner universities and the Colorado Department of Human Services on shared communications Marketing material creation and dissemination (e.g., flyers, event marketing) Track social media and communication engagement and assess for effectiveness Assist with events: reserve spaces, manage logistics, and provide on-site support Provide general administrative support to keep operations running smoothly Job Knowledge, Skills, And Competencies
Effective verbal and written communication skills Computer proficiency and tech savvy with the ability to learn new systems, software, and tools Skilled ability in problem identification and efficient, thorough resolution Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail Required Qualifications
An associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field with at least 2 years of similar professional work experience, OR a bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution Experience with listserv management and electronic newsletter development Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe, etc.) Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of higher education or scholarship administration Event coordination experience a plus Schedule Information
Full time, 40 hours per week Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Evenings and Weekend Work: For events, as needed Schedule: Hybrid schedule requiring in person work on our Denver, CO campus with the flexibility of some remote work opportunities (subject to supervisor approval) Travel: Potential travel to conferences and events both for program recruitment and professional development; approximately 10% - 15% of job Salary for Announcement
The full salary range for this grant funded position is $41,626 – $78,722. The anticipated hiring range that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Position is contingent on continued funding. This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits. Instructions to Apply
