The Digital Content Coordinator is a passionate digital storyteller responsible for helping tell CARE’s brand story and driving supporter engagement across digital media. This role supports content ideation and creation for CARE’s social media channels, including advocacy; contributes to the data-driven editorial calendar, supports CARE’s online supporter community, including the website, and executes rapid-response strategies to reach key audiences and meet organizational goals. The coordinator also helps fulfill CARE’s social media commitments to donors, corporate partners, advocates, and peer organizations, while supporting influencer engagement and the growth of new platforms. Working closely with CARE’s U.S. marketing, creative, and content teams, this role contributes to integrated campaigns, global activations, paid content, and media partnerships, ensuring visual and messaging consistency across channels. The ultimate goal of this position is to deliver a best-in-class experience for CARE’s digital audience and grow both reach and engagement. Responsibilities
Coordinating the full social media content lifecycle from ideation, research, and planning to writing, filming, designing, editing, curating, publishing, and optimizing, to deliver a best-in-class experience for CARE’s audiences. Supporting community engagement on CARE’s social platforms, ensuring timely responses, fostering dialogue, and building meaningful connections with followers. Collaborating with teams across the organization (marketing, advocacy, fundraising, the Office of the President, programs, and country offices), as well as with external consultants, to align social media content with CARE’s campaigns, global reports, and communications priorities. Helping to ensure content needs from across the organization are integrated into the editorial calendar and reflect both planned and rapid-response opportunities. Supporting the development, organization and distribution of CARE’s social media toolkits to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across teams and partners. Advocacy Communications
Support the Senior Manager, Advocacy Digital Media and Communications and the Director, Digital Marketing & Content by maintaining and helping implement a calendar of complimentary content distribution with an eye for consistency and tone. Website Support
Work closely with the website administrator to keep care.org up-to-date, fresh, and set a schedule for website maintenance, including regular page reviews. CARE News Newsletter
The Digital Content Coordinator will manage the creation and sending of the monthly CARE News newsletter working closely with the Senior Content Editor (Content & Creative team). Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum of 3 years in digital content creation or editing, preferably in a non-profit or news organization. Experience with website development, functionality, and design. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of global development, related trends and topics Proficient in AP style writing. Proficient in WordPress. Proven experience with email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and newsletter production. Proficient in using Google Analytics and similar analytics tools. Excellent organizational and cross-departmental collaboration skills. Proficient in using design and editing platforms such as Canva and CapCut.
