Overview
A large and well-established private practice in the south is looking for a general neurosurgeon to join its well-established group. The new neurosurgeon will be part of their innovative practice in this southern city and partner with the university to provide student, resident and fellow training in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Anesthesiology. Their physicians and surgeons serve as the faculty for the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the university.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical neurosurgery services with a focus on 80% spine and 20% cranial work.
Participate in resident teaching and research opportunities; collaborate with university departments for student, resident and fellow training.
Work within a team-based model to provide high-quality clinical care and clinical expertise; engage in appropriate team activities.
Co-manage patient care with area hospitals and cover call responsibilities as part of a group that operates across multiple hospitals (call approximately 7 to 10 days per month).
Position details
General neurosurgery at main campus with 80% spine and 20% cranial focus.
Call of 7 to 10 days per month.
Privademic environment with resident teaching opportunities and potential research involvement.
Group has co-management agreements with several area hospitals and collaborates on call coverage.
New angio-suite is being built and there are other growth areas being pursued.
Compensation and benefits
Competitive first-year income guarantee; transition to an income model based on productivity and ancillary revenue sources.
No buy-in to the practice.
