Summary: Seeking a Licensed Psychologist to provide therapeutic services for children and families at our Gastroenterology clinic. Our Cook Children's pediatric gastroenterology team specializes in children and adolescents with diseases and disorders of the digestive system. The Psychologist will work closely with children ages 2 - 18 and their families, who are experiencing behavioral, neurodevelopmental, and emotional challenges such as depression and anxiety. The Licensed Psychologist will work with patients and their families to provide psychotherapy (family, individual, and play therapy) and administer psychological testing as needed. The Licensed Psychologist will possess knowledge and understanding of normal pediatric/adolescent growth and brain development, and have experience with pediatric/adolescent mental health diagnoses and a variety of treatment milieu and psychological tests. Understanding the ecological, biological, genetic, and developmental factors that promote health across the lifespan is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide psychotherapy (family, individual, and play therapy) and administer psychological testing as needed.

Collaborate with pediatric gastroenterology team and families to address behavioral, neurodevelopmental, and emotional challenges.

Apply knowledge of normal pediatric/adolescent growth and brain development to patient care.

Work with patients aged 2-18 and families in various treatment milieus and with a range of psychological tests.

Qualifications

PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an accredited institution.

Licensed Psychologist in TX or licensure eligible (Provisional License considered if close to licensure).

Previous experience working with children/adolescents preferred.

Experience with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care is preferred.

Training in child growth and development.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to develop outstanding leadership skills.

Must demonstrate a commitment to high standards of patient care and customer relations.

CPR certification prior to start.
