JOB SUMMARY

The Communications Manager leads the day-to-day operations of IHB's communications and marketing efforts and supervises a small but high-performing team. This position is responsible for executing the IHB Communications Strategy, maintaining brand consistency across platforms, and supporting strategic initiatives aimed at increasing patient and community engagement. The Communications Manager ensures timely, culturally grounded messaging across digital, print, and community channels. This includes coordination of campaigns, oversight of advertising and outreach content, and collaboration with internal departments. The role supports branding and communications efforts across IHB's clinics, programs, and upcoming Menaandawiwe Wellness Campus, and ensures that outward-facing content reflects IHB's values and the needs of the urban American Indian community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervise Communications Specialists; assign tasks, manage team calendars, and hold staff accountable to timely and accurate content delivery. Ensure consistent use of IHB's brand and voice across all communications, including flyers, social media, website, and internal materials. Coordinate the creation, editing, and publication of social media content, digital and print ads, brochures, and outreach materials. Maintain digital archives and manage workflows related to content storage and access. Support execution of major communications initiatives such as: New website launch Branding for the Menaandawiwe Wellness Campus Community engagement campaigns Sponsorship and visibility opportunities Collaborate with internal departments to design and implement targeted communications for medical, dental, behavioral health, and traditional healing services. Track communications metrics and assist in reporting outreach, engagement, and growth benchmarks. Contribute to a positive work culture that reflects IHB's mission and promotes Mino-inawendiwin / Dayá uŋkúŋpi (Good relationships / We live in good relationship). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong organizational and writing skills with excellent interpersonal and people skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Familiarity with the needs and identities of urban American Indian communities Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite Proficient with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), and similar Skilled with social media platforms, Meta Business Suite, and Hootsuite (or similar) Familiarity with WordPress websites and SEO/GEO best practices Familiarity with ChatGPT and other AI tools for marketing content development and management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations Demonstrated experience managing a team or supervising staff Familiarity with or connection to American Indian/Alaska Native communities Strong portfolio of executed communication campaigns and content Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Health, or related field (Significant experience and portfolio may substitute for degree) Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or Indigenous-led organizations ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is onsite and based at IHB's administrative offices at 2020 Minnehaha Avenue. Occasional evening or weekend availability is required for community events and outreach. HIPAA
