Overview
A prestigious academic healthcare system is seeking a spine-focused neurosurgeon to join one of its well-equipped community hospitals. The new neurosurgeon will inherit a busy clinical practice as one neurosurgeon relocates within the system. This opportunity is ideal for a spine-focused general neurosurgeon comfortable with routine cranial neurosurgery. In addition to the clinical practice, there is an opportunity for a clinical faculty appointment, resident, fellow, and medical student teaching opportunities, and collaborative research/trials. The neurosurgery team maintains close collaboration with the hospital\'s multidisciplinary pain management clinic and receives referrals from several busy departments. The hospital is a 115-bed Level II Trauma Center, expanding to 210 beds in early 2026. It is ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery according to U.S. News & World Report. The healthcare program is an integrated system centered around a preeminent university. Case mix of ~75% spine and 25% cranial/general Expected case volume between 150-200 cases per year once established Referrals from affiliated primary care, orthopedic, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain medicine physicians; ED and inpatient hospitalists; and private practice physicians in the local market Q4 call schedule; call is highly consultative 2 PAs and 1 APRN who function as surgical assistants, clinic assistants, rounding on patients, and call coverage support Fellow, resident, and medical student teaching opportunities available at main campus: Grand Rounds, Friday academic/teaching days, and other opportunities Block OR time available Competitive compensation model No pediatric cases Community and Lifestyle
