Responsibilities
Utilize computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD)to create rough and detailed residential plans to scale, including floor plans, roof plans, elevations, sections, architectural details, and electrical plans. Supervise schematic, design development, and construction document phases with multiple departments (Sales, Purchasing, Construction, Land Development) to maintain high-quality and timely deliverables. Create and maintain a running log of plan changes and updates, and communicate revisions with field, sales, and consultants as necessary. Compile/submit design review packages and standard plan packages per community requirements and locally adopted ordinances. Ability to research and summarize building codes, zoning and PD requirements, and technical documents to facilitate the architectural submittal process in the DFW Metroplex. Determine procedures and instructions based on design and feature specifications, ensuring compliance with municipality code standards. Maintain effective communication with Architectural Review Committees, Structural Engineers, Surveyors, and other outsourced teams to ensure smooth coordination and collaboration. Efficiently plot models, construction offices, sold, and/or spec homes on lots, following lot fit analysis, final plat, design review, municipal restrictions and gathered on-site measurements Conduct thorough quality control reviews of all architectural documents, ensuring accuracy an adherence to industry standards. Provide guidance to builders regarding design specifications and necessary corrections. Supervise and manage the daily schedule of a Senior CAD Drafter. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, drafting or related field is preferred. 3+ years of experience in drafting, architectural, or structural engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Photoshop and experience with residential production home building is required. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills and comfortable communicating cross-functionally with internal and external business partners. Physical Requirements
This is primarily a sedentary position. May be required to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard. This position requires public contact, as such, appropriate business apparel and professional appearance is expected. Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required. A valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance is required at all times. Base Salary
The estimated annual compensation for this position is between $110,000 to $115,000 per year. Benefits
