CLINICAL: Internal Medicine Hospitalist Nocturnist, hospital-based position located at Tampa General Hospital. Responsibilities include participation in a faculty group practice with more than 45 hospitalists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents on inpatient services. Coverage includes medical transplant patients, general internal medicine patients on teaching and nonteaching services, medical consultations, transplant medicine consultations, and co-management of surgical services. Nocturnist coverage (7 pm – 7 am) with appropriate salary differential. Schedule: 7pm to 7am, 7 on/7 off block scheduling, with some flexibility. TEACHING: Instruct medical students and residents about inpatient and outpatient internal medicine; primarily supervising internal medicine residents in inpatient settings. May include precepting medical students in ambulatory clerkships. Administrative/Academic duties: Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university; teach, engage in research and service, and perform related administrative activities; provide academic advising as needed; may represent the university or department. Qualifications
MINIMUM : Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor, normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted Florida Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed. The candidate will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. Preferred : 1-3 years of physician or hospitalist experience. Experience with hospital medicine. Previous experience in an academic medical center. Proven track record in teaching and/or clinical research preferred. Preference given to candidates desiring to work as a nocturnist. About Us
