Tax Staff Accountant
Tax Staff
We are a dynamic mid-sized public accounting firm with a team of over 70 professionals, currently seeking a Tax Staff member who wants the opportunity to expand their skills and be an integral team member at a growing CPA firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare simple to complex Federal, State, and Local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Assist with responding to tax notices
- Interact with clients to gather relevant financial records
- Analyze financial data
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and industry regulations
Job criteria and qualifications:
- 0-5 years of experience in tax at a public accounting firm
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Knowledge of current tax laws and ability to apply to clients in direct interaction
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and innovative problem-solving skills
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Lacerte is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and energetic team personality
