Job Summary:

The

Painter

is responsible for preparing, mixing, and applying paints to various surfaces using pressure pots and conventional spray methods. This role requires knowledge of metal finishing, attention to detail in paint thickness checks, and the ability to safely handle and store paint and supplies. The Painter will also assist with inventory management, ensuring that supplies are well stocked and available for production needs.

Duties & Responsibilities: Safety and Operations:

Understand and adhere to all operating and safety procedures within the paint department. Paint Preparation:

Prepare and mix paints according to specifications, ensuring the correct color, texture, and consistency. Painting Application:

Apply paint to surfaces using pressure pots and conventional spray methods, ensuring a smooth, even, and high-quality finish. Metal Finishing:

Perform metal finishing tasks to ensure the surfaces are properly prepared for painting. Inventory Management:

Conduct regular inventory checks on paints, supplies, and materials, and requisition additional supplies as needed to avoid production delays. Paint Thickness Checks:

Accurately measure and check paint thickness to meet quality and industry standards. Department Assistance:

Provide assistance to other team members within the paint department as required, contributing to the smooth flow of operations. Specific Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

Tape Measure Skills:

Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to assist with surface measurements and paint application. Attention to Detail:

Strong eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes and accurate measurements. Safety Awareness:

Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the ability to work in a safe environment while mixing paints and using spraying equipment. Education & Experience:

Training Requirements: Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Training Global Harmonization System (GHS) Training Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) Training Onsite Training:

On-the-job training is available for all necessary operational and safety procedures. Experience:

Metal painting experience is required for this position, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing during painting tasks. Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching overhead, and grasping objects. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working with respirators and other protective gear while mixing and applying paints. Ability to work effectively in a production environment, maintaining safety and quality standards. Comfortable spraying from ladders This role is essential to ensuring the painting process meets quality, safety, and operational standards. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in painting techniques, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in a production environment.
