Commodity Manager
to lead procurement activities for
forgings and machining commodities
within our
Driveline Product Line . The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong supplier management capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver commercial value while mitigating supply chain risks. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Develop and implement regional sourcing strategies for forgings and machined parts. Identify and develop cost-disruptive suppliers to meet objectives in cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and sustainability. Lead supplier negotiations to secure best-in-class material costs and commercial terms. Manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement and compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Manufacturing to align sourcing strategies with technical and program needs. Cost Management & Benchmarking Drive annual cost reduction initiatives across the product lifecycle. Use cost analysis, market intelligence, and should-cost modeling to ensure competitiveness. Monitor trends in raw material pricing and technology advancements. Risk & Compliance Assess and mitigate risks including single sourcing, supplier financial health, and geopolitical factors. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Support supplier audits and corrective action processes. Qualifications 7+ years
of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain roles within the
automotive industry Deep understanding of sourcing
forgings and machining Demonstrated success in
complex supplier negotiations
and achieving cost savings Proficiency in
cost modeling
and
total cost of ownership
concepts Ability to travel
domestically and internationally (approx. 10-20%) Education Bachelor's degree
in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field Additional Information This position may require occasional international travel.
