Pest Control Technician
position. Under the supervision of the Pest Control Supervisor, performs a variety of pest control duties for all buildings and properties as assigned for the eradication of pests for the Authority. For additional information on the job, please see the full Job

The ideal candidate has: Three years’ experience in pest control treatment program. High school diploma or equivalent education. Driver’s License and fully insurable driving record. Must possess and maintain a State of Washington commercial Operator’s pesticide License for general and structural applications. Union membership is required within thirty days of appointment to the position. What will you do? Provides treatment for pests as appropriate for the control of insects, to include ants, roaches, bed bugs, occasional invaders, and rodents in vacated and occupied residences, SHA public building, and on grounds. Provides treatment for pests that attack structural material, including termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles. Make reports of treatments to units, buildings, and grounds as requested. Instruct residents in the proper sanitation of their units to prevent pest infestation. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the unit/program/department initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission through a spirit of service, teamwork, and respect. Work well with other employees, follow directions, and work well under pressure. Attend all required training and safety meetings; use, maintain, and replace assigned personal protective equipment; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident/accident reports as required; report hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices to supervisor; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies and procedures.
