To perform pest control services in schools and facilities. Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High school graduate or GED equivalency required Texas Department of Agriculture Structural Pest Control Service License Must have a valid Class C driver's license and pass dept/motor vehicle check Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work in a variety of schools and facilities, interpersonally Ability to implement policy and procedures Possess sound human relations skills and good communication skills Flexible and able to adjust daily routine Ability to understand and follow detailed written and/or verbal instructions Ability to work in exposure to all weather conditions Ability to operate pesticide application equipment Experience:

Experience in Pest Control preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Structural Pest Control Implement the district integrated pest control program for the use of pesticides, herbicides and other chemical agents to control pests, rodents, insects, and weeds at district buildings and facilities. Follow an approved pest control schedule for assigned facilities as determined by the Foreman. Maintain good attendance, safety and driving records. Evaluate pest control problems and take appropriate, effective actions. Follow a State-approved Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program established by the Board of Education, and is prepared to familiarize school-based personnel with the concept of IPM. Prepare written reports regarding pest control services rendered and chemicals used. Respond to the needs of the school principal or facility administrator regarding pest control. Maintain inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment and order additional supplies as needed. Label and secure pesticides. Secure locking of all exterior gates/mechanical room and entry doors used during the application of pesticides. Maintain files required, including pesticide application records, pesticide labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, and records of complaints. Participate in required TDA Structural Pest Control Service integrated pest management training courses. Communication

Communicate with district administrators and staff about integrated pest management, including training, notice and posting, sanitation, and pesticide storage. Post appropriate notice in district facilities prior to planned pesticide treatment according to TDA requirements. Respond to requests and inquiries relating to pest problems from staff, students, parents, and the public. Safety

Follow established policies and procedures in accord with Texas Department of Agricultural Structural Pest Control Service, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Texas Department of Health (TDH), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and other regulatory agencies that govern the use and applications of pesticides and pest control. Mix, apply and control use of insecticides and pest control chemicals with effective and industry approved procedures to ensure consistent control of all insects, including but not limited to; roaches, fire ants, termites, fleas, wasp, crickets and asps. Wear required safety equipment and protective clothing to meet job demands. Operate, store, handle, and dispense pest control/equipment and tools in a safe, organized and tidy manner. Ensure all school employees who perform pest control have the necessary training and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment. Keep vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Inspect tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Carrying: Constantly carrying up to 10 pounds;

Environment: Work inside 75% and outside 25%; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures (72O - 100O F), dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Pay Grade: MT07

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $20.96 Mid. $25.25 Max. $29.08 (Based on previous experience)

Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.

Salary is based on 260 days. If working less than 260 days, the salary will be less.
