being highly desirable. This role includes managerial responsibilities and requires extensive experience in network security, design, and operations within datacenters and virtual cloud environments. Additionally, experience with Cloud Security and AI and automation in the security domain will be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

Security Solutions Design & Management: Manage the analysis and design of network security solutions in datacenters and virtual cloud environments. Security Solutions Design & Management: Provide technical and administrative direction to personnel responsible for security infrastructure design, implementation, and operations tasks, ensuring the correctness of work products. Technical Leadership & Oversight: Make recommendations and oversee major security infrastructure installations. Technical Leadership & Oversight: Ensure that the security architecture complies with agency IT standards and integrates well with other systems and external interfaces. Security Policy Implementation: Develop an understanding of, and implement, agency security policy in network security infrastructure devices. Security Policy Implementation: Evaluate cybersecurity risks to ensure that critical data and systems are protected per federal government guidelines and integrated with enterprise-wide solutions. Risk Management & Analysis: Analyze trends, news, and changes in threat and compliance environments. Risk Management & Analysis: Advise organization management and develop and execute plans for compliance and mitigation of risk. Engineering & Advisory: Apply security engineering principles and theory to propose design and configuration alternatives. Engineering & Advisory: Evaluate existing security systems to identify deficiencies and areas for performance improvement. Engineering & Advisory: Architect, design, implement, maintain, and operate information system security controls and countermeasures. Engineering & Advisory: Provide technical guidance to personnel concerning security requirements and potential solutions or mitigation options. People Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of security professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. People Management: Conduct performance reviews, provide career development guidance, and support the professional growth of team members. People Management: Coordinate and oversee team projects, ensuring effective delegation, and timely completion of tasks. People Management: Resolve conflicts and make effective decisions regarding personnel matters, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years' experience as a Security Engineer. Specialized experience with designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-wide or large-scale network security systems, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filters, and SSL-Visibility systems. Certification:

Cisco , or

Juniper . Palo Alto is preferred. Specific Skills:

Strong people management skills, including team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management. Ability to manage the design and implementation of network security solutions in datacenters and virtual cloud environments. Technical and administrative oversight of security infrastructure projects. Ensuring compliance with agency IT standards and security architecture. Cybersecurity risk evaluation and protection for critical data and systems. Expertise in security architecture, design, implementation, and operations. Analyzing trends and compliance environments to advise on risk and mitigation strategies.

Additional Beneficial Qualifications AI and Automation

Experience with integrating AI and automation in security processes to enhance threat detection and response times. Knowledge of AI-based security tools and platforms, and the ability to leverage machine learning for improved security analytics. Experience in automating repetitive security tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce human error. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) for automating security operations.

Cloud Security

Extensive experience with securing cloud environments and services. Understanding of cloud security protocols, best practices, and compliance requirements. Proficiency with cloud security tools and technologies.

Education

Bachelors Degree
