In this role, you will serve as a Data Center Design Manager, influencing all aspects of data center design, construction, and equipment qualification. You will work with internal and external teams to define, design, and implement complex infrastructure projects that power AWS's global presence.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Leading project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs globally within schedule and cost constraints
Overseeing the complete equipment qualification process, ensuring alignment across various teams and adherence to technical, operational, safety, quality, reliability, and business requirements on a global scale
Developing and sustaining a scalable mechanism to seamlessly integrate diverse teams and ensure that all power and cooling equipment undergo the required qualification tests
Collaborating with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, as well as material suppliers, to deliver high-quality designs that support favorable business outcomes
Managing relationships with internal stakeholders, operations teams, and external consultants
Driving innovation in design and construction processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Creating and maintaining global best practice documentation
Overseeing project metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality
Traveling for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants
About the team: The Data Center Design Engineering team at Amazon Web Services consists of Architects, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Fire Protection and Controls Engineers working to design the next generation of Data Centers.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
4+ years of commissioning experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer License
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
