The Senior Accountant – Owner Reporting will play a pivotal role within a team of professionals, including offshore personnel, that is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial transactions and information with a focus on ensuring the accuracy, transparency and timeliness of owner-related accounting ledgers, financial statements and other financial reporting while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. This role will also act as a liaison between the Accounting team and the ownership entities by establishing and maintaining direct relationships with their counterparts, overseeing cash management for owner portfolios and distributing financial statements, management reporting & other regulatory reporting. Additionally, the role will promote a culture of continuous collaboration, learning and professional growth by mentoring and developing junior team members. RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows: Perform general accounting activities, including the reconciliation and review of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Train and review work prepared by offshore personnel, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Review, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure owner-related accounting ledgers are complete, accurate and compliant with accepted accounting policies and principles. Perform regular analyses of the cash needs of owner portfolios to ensure adequate working capital is readily available. Maintain direct working relationships with owners by serving as their main point of contact for financial inquiries and reports, including ad hoc reporting and special analysis requests. Partner with other functional groups, including all other accounting areas, asset management, financial systems and treasury, to address owner inquiries and provide financial support including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Leads the team in transforming data into accurate and complete financial reports, resolving escalations, addressing quality control issues, and implementing any necessary process improvements. Prepare corporate audit schedules for assigned areas and ensure the timely resolution of auditor questions/requests. Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Competencies
Strong understanding of ownership structures, including partnerships, joint ventures, and REITs. Strong understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial reports. Proficiency in transforming raw financial data into meaningful reports and dashboards that effectively translate technical accounting/financial concepts to non-technical audiences when needed. Experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements for more effective owner reporting. Highly skilled in building strong relationships with ownership groups and cross-functional teams. Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Information Systems or Data Analytics related, is required; CPA / CPA candidate is preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of reporting related experience, either in a financial reporting or FP&A role. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required. Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements for ownership structures and entities is preferred. Significant experience working with large datasets and expert knowledge of various data analysis software packages and tools (e.g., MS-Excel, SAS, Peoplesoft ERP) is required. Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
