We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Real Estate Financial Controller

with an understanding of Yardi Voyager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting of our real estate properties, as well as collaborating with our external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Specifically, you will be tasked with using Yardi Voyager/Elevate to perform CAM and bank reconciliations, create asset schedules, close the books, and manage budgeting/forecasting. The Real Estate Controller is responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements, statistical data, and journal entries for input into the general ledger for financial reporting purposes. As the Real Estate Controller, you will also play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our real estate portfolio, leveraging your expertise in Yardi Voyager / Elevate to streamline processes and enhance financial performance. This role will also be responsible for providing detailed account and variance analysis, in addition to reconciliations, and supporting documentation for general ledger accounts. This is a unique role at an incredible company! The real estate portfolio is primarily comprised of industrial assets. As the Real Estate Controller, this role oversees the financial accounting and reporting for wholly owned and joint venture properties as well as construction projects. Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for the real estate properties Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements in all financial reporting Utilize Yardi Voyager to maintain and enhance financial systems and processes for efficient property management Manage general ledger and full month-end close process Reconcile bank statements and oversee AP/AR accuracy Oversee annual budgeting activity Deliver variance analysis Property Accounting: Manage all aspects of property accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end/year-end close processes Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness Monitor and analyze financial performance of properties, providing insights and recommendations for improvement Collaborate with development, construction, and property management teams to ensure accurate project accounting and reporting Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are provided Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting principles, and financial reporting standards 10+ years of accounting experience within a real estate or related industry. Proficiency in Yardi, Yardi Voyager, Yardi Elevate, or Yardi Enterprise Proven experience as a Property Controller or in a similar property accounting leadership role, specifically within the real estate industry Expertise in using Yardi at the enterprise level, with a strong understanding of its financial modules and capabilities Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong leadership and team management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint Strong data-driven approach with the ability to articulate high-level analysis and recommendations Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage, mentor, and develop a team to ensure high performance and professional growth We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$170,000.00. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
