The Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine

at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, working at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital on the campus of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Additional fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine is desirable, but not required for consideration. The position offers an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor commensurate with background and credentials with Wake Forest University School of Medicine. The Pediatric Pulmonology Section at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital/Wake Forest Baptist offers a collegial, supportive environment that fosters collaboration across disciplines. The team includes five pediatric pulmonologists—one dedicated to cystic fibrosis (CF)—a pediatric sleep physician, and two experienced inpatient/outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs). We care for a diverse patient population with high acuity and a broad spectrum of pulmonary conditions, including: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) Chronic invasive and non-invasive ventilation needs Neuromuscular respiratory weakness Asthma Cystic fibrosis Aerodigestive disorders Pulmonary hypoplasia and chest wall deformities Pediatric sleep disorders Interstitial lung disease Sickle cell-related lung disease Comprehensive Pediatric Pulmonary Services

Accredited CF Center and member of the Therapeutics Development Network (TDN), with a full multidisciplinary CF care team including providers, nurse coordinator, respiratory therapist, social worker, dietitian, and pharmacist Multidisciplinary clinics for CF, ventilator-dependence, neuromuscular disorders, aerodigestive disorders, sickle cell disease, and pediatric sleep medicine Inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy services supported by on-call RT bronchoscopy technicians and full pulmonary lung function testing capabilities Strong collaborative relationships with adult pulmonology, pediatric ENT, NICU, PICU, pediatric surgery, and other pediatric subspecialties Outreach through satellite clinics in Clemmons and Hickory, North Carolina When you join the faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, you are welcomed into an inclusive, mission-driven culture that values every voice and respects the strengths of a diverse team.
