Senior Human Resources Specialist New York, NY Position: Senior HR Specialist Work Style: Hybrid (50% in-office, 50% remote) Location: New York Salary Range: DOE ($65,000 $90,000) Language Requirement: Bilingual in Japanese and English

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Senior HR Specialist to join our team. This role requires a versatile HR professional who can manage end-to-end recruitment, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations while supporting strategic HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Recruit, interview, and manage the hiring process for professional and administrative positions Develop recruiting strategies, job descriptions, and manage agency partnerships Conduct screening interviews, draft offer letters, and oversee selection through acceptance Coordinate background checks and visa processes (Work VISA, Trainee VISA) Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities Prepare payroll data, ensuring compliance with federal and state overtime laws Handle payroll deductions (health insurance, 401k, commuting benefits) and coordinate with CPA/ADP Manage unemployment responses to DOL Administer health insurance updates, 401k contributions, and annual reviews Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws Manage FMLA, PFL, ADA, disability claims, and accommodations Maintain Employee Handbook and update policies as needed Support compliance training tracking and reporting Plan and conduct annual performance and salary reviews Contribute to HR systems and strategic compensation programs Support culture-building and employee engagement initiatives Maintain employee data in HR systems Provide employment verifications and process international employee transfers Assist with visas, tax coordination, and relocation support for international assignees Conduct exit interviews and manage termination paperwork Report directly to senior leadership (VP, CFO, COO, or CEO as assigned)

Qualifications Bachelors degree (HR focus preferred) 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a specialist or generalist role Bilingual in Japanese and English (required) Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, and labor law compliance Skilled communicator with a passion for people and organizational culture Proficient in HRIS, MS Office, and familiar with U.S. employment regulations

Compensation & Benefits
