Phlebotomist III Floater – Location: Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Shift: 7:30am–5:30pm (8 hour shifts) with rotational weekend. Driving license required.

Job Description

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR III has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The PSR III will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor\'s office, a patient service center or as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct. Maintains required records and documentation. Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure a safe, accurate, and confident patient experience.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment; adhere to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including post-venipuncture labeling verification.
  • Complete required records and documentation; support process excellence and leadership behaviors as applicable.
  • May be assigned to a doctor\'s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Compliance with all Policies & Procedures including dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
  • Decision-making ability based on established procedures; good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Travel and flexible hours to work multiple locations; coverage at Patient Service Centers/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus with clear communication to peers, supervisors and patients; adaptability to change; knowledge of the business.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience.

Additional Details

  • Rotational Weekend: include home city/commute time to job site on resume. Rate based on DIRECT EXPERIENCE per resume; overlapping roles do not count twice.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to/from the worksite; public transportation is not considered reliable.
  • Must be available to work when scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness may result in termination.
  • Verify commute time to/from the physical work location when submitting candidates. Within a 20–25 minute commute window is preferred to ensure site coverage.
  • Floaters travel between multiple sites and must be on time at the site covered for the day. Floaters may submit mileage for expense reimbursement.
