Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer on site at the Scottsdale, AZ Facility | Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)
Pay Estimated: $75-$89 per Hour

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems. Join our Land and Air Systems team and design mission critical hardware for those who lead, protect, and serve the world we live in!
Responsibilities
- Engage in requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraint definition, and oversight of PCB/PWB layout and routing.
- Support manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification phases.
- Apply Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint management, and signal/power integrity analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design high-performance PCBs/PWBs using advanced materials and packaging for high-speed interfaces (e.g., 10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+).
- Ensure compliance with VITA/VPX standards, including VITA 46 and VITA 65.
- Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools for validation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s)
- An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test
- Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis
- Experience designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.)
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment
