This role offers a chance to leverage your expertise in CNC operations, machining techniques, and engineering design to drive process improvements and deliver high-quality results. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative solutions for parts requiring CNC Swiss, CNC Lathe, and CNC Milling operations.
- Problem-solve CNC setups and processes as needed to ensure efficiency and precision.
- Collaborate with tooling, equipment, and subcontract vendors to ensure customer and quality specifications are met.
- Design specialty work-holding fixtures and initiate preliminary and production prints per customer specifications.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams.
- Create CNC programs manually or using CAD/CAM software such as Fusion and PartMaker.
- Develop accurate cycle time estimates and job routers, including CNC programs, process, and tooling lists.
- Identify and implement process improvements to achieve continuous improvement objectives and cost reductions.
- Train CNC operators based on identified skill gaps and ensure adherence to safety and work rules.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Must-Have Skills
- College or trade school education in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in engineering-related roles, particularly in CNC operations.
- Proficiency in G-codes for CNC machines and knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to use precision measuring and gauging equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics and manufacturing processes.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Background knowledge in materials, machining techniques, heat treating, and various platings.
- Experience designing specialty work-holding fixtures and optimizing tooling changeovers.
- Independent and proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in training CNC operators and fostering skill development.
