Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Engineer located in Fairfield, OH. The right candidate for this role has a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, coupled with a passion for solving technical industrial challenges. The candidate enjoys spending about 50% of his/her time on the shop floor, engaging hands-on to solve technical and production challenges. Essential Job Functions
- Develop and apply engineering standards for safe, efficient processes
- Reverse engineer customer products for repair or new production
- Troubleshoot machine issues with the Production Manager and shop team
- Improve designs using customer feedback and performance data
- Create and fabricate CAD/3D designs (Autodesk Fusion used in-house)
- Manage quality systems to optimize production and reduce rejects
- Prepare reports, guidelines, and documentation for company-wide use
- Drive process improvements and support project management efforts
- Assist sales and management with design and material recommendations
- Support machinery troubleshooting, including sourcing replacement parts
- Manage projects across the company, as assigned by management
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Adept at applying physics and mathematics to problem solving
- Proficient with CAD/3D Modeling software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Experience with project management related to manufacturing operations
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Some experience working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel, for analysis and production/project management
- Capable of building trust, with manufacturing and management team members, to further Provient’s goals
- Comfortable with equipment maintenance to minimize downtime
- Detail-oriented, team-focused, and innovative
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs.
