$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr
About the Role:
We are exclusively retained on a role seeking an experienced and hands-on finance leader to serve as VP, Accounting & Finance for North America. This role goes beyond a traditional finance leadership position, combining the responsibilities of the US Controller with a broader regional scope across the US, Canada, and an international shared service center. You will oversee all aspects of accounting and tax, including statutory and regulatory reporting, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, while also driving strategic initiatives such as ERP/system enhancements, process optimization, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial accounting function across North America, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS.
- Oversee statutory accounting, tax compliance, audits, and internal control processes.
- Manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams across the US, Canada, and SSC.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to guide business decisions.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement process improvements and drive efficiency.
- Participate in strategic projects including ERP enhancements, M&A integration, and digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including at least 5 years in public accounting (preferred).
- Strong hands-on accounting skills and a CPA designation.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with IFRS, US GAAP, tax compliance, and ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership in managing finance teams and complex, multi-location operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Ability to travel internationally (Canada & Europe) ~15%
