DSV is a global leader in transport and logistics with a presence in over 80 countries. This description reflects the responsibilities and requirements for a Warehouse Associate / Forklift Driver role at DSV, including safety, quality, and operational standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities include loading/unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. Responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership of damages or discrepancies. All duties are performed to ensure safe and efficient operation and in accordance with company policies.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shipping Responsibilities: Use gas or electric powered forklifts to load outbound shipments, move products, and stack materials. Load orders efficiently and accurately according to doors and trailers. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for shipping.
  • Receiving Responsibilities: Use gas or electric powered forklifts to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack, and store. Locate and store products correctly per storage areas and SOPs.
  • Picking Responsibilities: Use forklifts to pick orders accurately to fulfill client demands. Stage products in appropriate areas, then stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label as required by client specifications. Follow SOPs for picking.
  • Quality Control Responsibilities: Verify products and orders meet quality standards using applicable documentation. Report damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label as required by SOPs.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Execute safety protocols, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and assist in security of the warehouse. Comply with SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment including sit-down/stand-up/reach trucks, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, pallet jack. Maintain equipment, report problems, and perform minor daily maintenance. Maintain active forklift certification.
  • Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution environment. Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations: Satisfactory completion of forklift training program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, RF scanners, WMS functionality.
  • Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate ability to verify quantities and inventory counts.
  • Other: Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 1–3 years in warehouse/logistics, 1–3 years forklift experience, current or prior MHE certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional handling of materials; frequent bending, reaching above shoulder and outward; occasional lifting up to 21–50 lbs; continuous standing and walking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical warehouse setting with low to moderate noise. Limited exposure to fumes or airborne particles; no extreme conditions noted.

COMPENSATION

The expected base pay for this position is: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour. Actual base compensation will be determined based on factors including job knowledge, skills, experience, and other business considerations.
