Overview

Forklift Driver at DSV - Global Transport and Logistics. Location: USA - South Bend, 5565 Dylan Drive. Time Type: Full Time. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for shipping, receiving, and picking, and for counting and inspecting products while notifying leadership of damages or discrepancies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Shipping: Use gas or electric powered forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack materials. Load orders accurately according to doors and trailers. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all shipping activities.
• Receiving: Use forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack and store products. Locate and place products in correct storage areas. Follow SOPs for receiving.
• Picking: Use forklift to pick orders to fulfill client demands. Stage products in appropriate areas. Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products per client requirements. Follow SOPs.
• Quality Control: Use appropriate documentation to ensure products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly. Verify quality standards and report damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label as needed per SOPs.
• Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain safety protocols, keep the work area clean and orderly, and comply with SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
• Equipment Operation: Operate equipment including sit-down/stand-up/reach forklifts, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack. Maintain equipment, report problems, inspect and perform minor maintenance daily. Maintain active forklift certification.
• Maintenance and Other Duties: Assist in general maintenance as assigned. Perform other duties as needed, including overtime if required by business.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

• Forklift training program completion.

Other Requirements

• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures; exposure may vary with seasons.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.
• English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
• Basic to intermediate math for quantities and inventory counting.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timely task completion.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of warehouse/logistics experience.
• 1-3 years forklift experience.
• Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting.
• Frequently: Bending.
• Constantly: Walking and Standing.
• Lift/Carry: 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel.

Work Environment
