To serve as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with responsibility for the entire Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Organization.

Pay scale & grade: GS 13. Location: few vacancies in the following location: Quantico, VA.

Travel Required: Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.

Relocation expenses reimbursed: Yes—You may qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy.

Duties

  • Serves as senior AFOSI Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Provides Cybersecurity Guidance for IT Projects.
  • Serves as senior cybersecurity technical lead for program/system execution of DoD Information Network (DoDIN) operations.
  • Serves as senior a cybersecurity subject matter expert (SME) for Acquisition efforts.
  • Accomplishes cybersecurity coordination as a senior representative to organization.
  • Manages the AF Cyber Assurance program to ensure MAJCOM level compliance with related AF, Department of Defense guidance.

  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
  • This is a Drug Testing Designated position.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations.
  • Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft.
  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment.
  • A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.
  • Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 (or equivalent in other pay systems) Applying advanced IT security principles, methods, techniques, and procedures related to access control; application development; contingency planning; cryptography; governance and risk management; interpret laws, regulations, investigations, and compliance; networking, physical and environmental security; personnel, industrial, and information security; and secure systems operations and maintenance.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
