Phlebotomy Technician IV Team Lead

The Phlebotomy Technician IV Team Lead reports to the Phlebotomy Coordinator and Laboratory Manager. Under general supervision, the Phlebotomy Technician IV plans and provides professional phlebotomy services for patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Phlebotomy Technician IV functions as a highly experienced member of the phlebotomy team and provides instruction to students/new employees in accordance with the scope of a phlebotomist. The Phlebotomy Technician IV is responsible for preparing patients for blood collection, collecting blood from patients, ensuring accurate labeling, and delivering this blood to the laboratory for testing. The Phlebotomy Technician IV is responsible for all Phlebotomy Technician I, II, and III duties as well as advanced testing techniques, advanced computer application knowledge, participation in performance improvement projects, training/documentation responsibilities, Team Leader responsibilities and required annual CEU completion.

Additional Job Description

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years phlebotomy experience required. Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, or NHA is strongly preferred.
