Your Role as the Director of Nursing
As the Director of Nursing, youll lead the clinical team to ensure exceptional care for our residents. Youll oversee all nursing services, provide supervision and guidance, and maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and Americares high standards. Youll collaborate with other departments, manage assessments, care plans, and staff development, and support a safe, home-like environment. What Youll Do
Oversee the clinical supervision and administration of all nursing services. Implement and maintain nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures, revising as necessary. Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other care team members. Collaborate with community administrators to ensure staff orientation and training. Conduct regular assessments of residents and ensure documentation is up-to-date. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and Americare regulations. Manage medication systems and ensure they meet regulatory guidelines and resident needs. Contribute to quality assurance by maintaining community standards and supporting inspections.
What You Bring
Licensure: A current state nursing license (RN). Experience: Proven leadership in nursing, preferably in senior living or long-term care. Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, leadership, and ability to manage both administrative and hands-on nursing care. Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork to work with staff, administrators, and families. Commitment: Passion for senior care and alignment with Americares mission.
Physical Demands
Stand, sit, walk, bend, and change positions frequently. Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist in transferring residents as needed. Push/pull up to 100 lbs. and maneuver wheelchairs (up to 350 lbs.). Assist in lowering residents to the floor during falls. Use safety equipment, including gait belts and mechanical lifts. Perform tasks requiring good vision, hearing, and verbal communication.
